The fifth edition of the MedEngagee Scholarship Summit 2023, a key CSR project of Metropolis Labs, marked an important defining moment and a fantastic accomplishment for everyone at Metropolis. For the first time, more than 200 people attended the event. The presence of 11 generations of doctors at the summit made us incredibly happy and humbled. 250 medical students (final year MBBS & MD/DNB) across the country received scholarships grants totaling INR 1.7 crore under Metropolis's MedEngage Scholarship Program. About 50% of the recipients of the overall scholarships were women doctors. The Scholarships were given in honour of their accomplishments in terms of their grades, extracurricular activities, and research paper/thesis presentations. This year’s edition received over 2670 applications from 516 cities across 29 states in India, covering more than 500 medical colleges, including government and private ones across the nation. The Summit celebrated scholarship recipients in six different categories, including Champion of Champions, Pedagogue, Scholar Collar, The Vibrant One, Wizkid, and Wordsmith. Our Hon. Shri. Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Minister of Skill Development, Tourism, Entrepreneurship & Women and Child Development, Government of Maharashtra), and Shri N Nawin Sona IAS, Principal Secretary -2, Public Health Department, Government of Maharashtra graced the event and addressed the audience. Medical Luminaries from different specialities graced the event as speakers and helped honour the GenNext, the nation’s up-and-coming medical talent. The Summit, which was organized by Metropolis Healthcare in collaboration with the Metropolis Foundation, turned out to be a large-scale celebration of the medical community, including both senior and younger doctors.
