Our colleague Vidyashree Rai, Head of Learning and Development and DE&I, was recently invited to participate in a panel discussion titled "The Push for DE&I (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion)" at Business Insider India's "Future of Work (FOW)" Summit.
Vidyashree emphasized in this panel discussion that organizations must define the purpose and fundamental need before embarking on the DE&I agenda. The panel discussion, which included harish π³οΈβπ Iyer (Head - Diversity and Inclusion, Axis Bank), Neha Bagaria (Founder and CEO, JobsForHer), and Ashwini Puthraya Sharma (Head - Learning, Talent, and DE&I, South Asia, HSBC), focused on how data and insights can be used to address inequalities at the grassroot levels in defining the DE&I agenda in the long run.
Metropolis has a strong track record of retaining female employees, with nearly 240 women working for the company for more than a decade. With 43% female workforce representation, Metropolis is known for providing a supportive and inclusive work culture, numerous opportunities to learn and grow, and a safe working environment.
The company recently launched its first-of-its-kind Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) initiative, 'The Full Circle - Career 2.0 for Women,' in the diagnostics industry. This brand-new initiative aims to assist women who have taken a break from their careers and are now ready to resume them. The overarching goal of this initiative for Metropolis is to increase the size of the women talent pool and to remove the taboo of taking breaks for being just a caregiver in the society.
Keeping Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion as one of our key focus areas under the broader ESG Agenda, Metropolis aims to achieve a '50-50' Gender Balance at all levels of the company within the next three years.
